Anna Kournikova - NO to Plastic Surgery
The OC Register just reported on Anna Kournikova saying no to breast implants and botox. In the article, Anna says and I quote,
“Here’s one thing I don’t get. Why are people afraid of getting older? You feel wiser. You feel more mature. You feel like you know yourself better. You would trade that for softer skin? Not me!”
… “People say, ‘I can’t believe how much you’ve changed!’ What did they expect? It would be sad if I didn’t change!”
Although Anna is far from being old, I think she has a wonderful attitude and I hope this continues well into her older years.
I must absolutely agree with her as I do feel much wiser and know myself much better. Better than I ever have before. Anna is wise beyond her years!
Bravo Anna!
Beth

Well women, “wise beyond her years’ is half true. The most she can be is wise FOR the years she ahs already lived. It is easy to say what you will never do when you are not faced with the situation. A statement like that from someone who is not even 40 is like me saying I will never have a facelift. As a black woman who is proud, to be almost 46 I will probably never be a candidate for a facelift. Let us not applaud people who swear off something they would not be a candidate for anyway. http://www.AngelaSegal.com “Independent Patient Consultants for Plastic Surgery”

Not even looking at the botox part of what Anna says…I do agree with Angela…… to an extent. We have no idea how we will feel when we are in our 50’s. I can’t see myself getting a facelist…ever! But, I am only 30, so I would never say NEVER….even though it probably is…NEVER, because I can’t imagine taking a scalpel to my face for vanity reasons. Or, having my face injected with potentionally deadly botulism!
What I DID like was that Anna said she’d never get breast implants. Too many of these young women are getting breast implants, and I think it is awesome when one stands up and says “hey ladies, breast implants are a no go!” We need MORE young women like that for other young, impressionable girls to look up to.

Hello Angela,
Although Anna is still young and obviously does not need work, many women her age are having work done. So I find it wonderful for her to say this since she is under the spot light on a daily basis.
I’m 47 Angela and I have said all my life that I would not get a face lift. I know how it is done and its not pretty. I have said this all my life and that has not changed. I’m aging gracefully and that is just fine by me. I think everyone should see the actual surgery that is performed when having a face lift. I believe that would change their mind. It affected me at a very young age because a family member had one and it was pretty terrible not to mention painful.
Also, after having breast implants and seeing what they have done to my life and health, I will say no to all cosmetic surgery.
I suppose if we all felt like I do, that would put you out of business wouldn’t it???
BTW…did Anna mention a facelift?? I don’t recall that.
