Love your look?

I found this website this morning - http://www.loveyourlook.com/ - And it made me sad that it implies that you have to undergo plastic surgery to “love the way you look”.  You can even create a virtual model of yourself - making your breasts bigger, hips smaller, etc. to show what you would like like after you go under the knife.  They wait till the 8th questions under the top ten to ask “are implants safe“? and then all they do is post several articles about how silicone implants were approved by the FDA. What about all the women who are sick from saline implants? They say you can “feel beautiful and secure” - and some of the women’s blogs say that it was “worth all the aches and pains of the procedure”. It is just sad that our society makes women believe that we have to have big breasts to be beautiful.

  2. Breast implants definitely weren’t worth the pains of rheumatoid arthritis. The pain of that disease when it is burning your joints and disfiguring everything is unbareable, especially when I still had my implants inside of me. It’s like the implants blocked the pain meds, as nothing seemed to help me while I had them. Thankfully when they were removed, pain meds began working and I began to get relief. Healthy women get breast implants (with the exception of cancer patients), they usually have no experience with surgeries, disease, or anything else so they think there’s nothing to worry about. I wouldn’t wish an autoimmune disease on anyone; let’s hope one day there will be truly safe breast implants.

  3. Krista, I’m sure breast implant manufacturer’s are experiencing a dip in sales now that reality shows like The Swan and Extreme Makeover haven’t shown their ugly faces in awhile. Fingers crossed that this isn’t just a sanity phase! Looks like big business is looking for new advertising venues.
